Can Dogs Eat Blue Cheese?

🧀
⚠ Caution — Low Risk

Contains roquefortine C. Can cause vomiting, seizures.

Why Blue Cheese Should Be Avoided

Blue cheese is potentially dangerous for dogs. It contains roquefortine C, a mycotoxin produced by the mould used in the cheese-making process. Symptoms of roquefortine poisoning include vomiting, diarrhoea, high temperature, and seizures. Small amounts may only cause digestive upset, but larger amounts or small dogs are at higher risk. All blue cheeses (Stilton, Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Danish Blue) should be avoided.
