Why Cat Food Should Be Avoided
Cat food is not toxic to dogs, but it should not be fed regularly. Cat food is formulated with much higher protein and fat levels than dogs need, which can lead to obesity, pancreatitis, and digestive upset with regular consumption. An occasional nibble will not harm your dog. If you have both cats and dogs, feed them separately and do not allow your dog to finish the cat's food. Persistent cat food consumption should be prevented.
