If in doubt, always call your vet or the Animal Poison Line immediately.

Why It's Dangerous

Pork rinds (pork scratchings) are high in fat and salt, both of which raise the risk of pancreatitis and, in large amounts, sodium-related issues. Their hard, crunchy texture can also be difficult for some dogs to chew safely.

Symptoms to Watch For

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Lethargy
  • Abdominal pain (pancreatitis signs)
  • Excessive thirst if a large amount was eaten

Vet Guidance

Monitor for digestive upset. Contact your vet if a large quantity was eaten or if signs of pancreatitis develop.
