Why It's Dangerous
Raw rowan berries contain parasorbic acid, which can cause gastrointestinal irritation. The toxin is largely destroyed by cooking, which is why rowan berries are traditionally only eaten as jelly or jam after boiling.

- Abdominal discomfort
- Drooling
