Why It's Dangerous
Wild garlic (ramsons) is a foraged plant that contains the same thiosulphate compounds as cultivated garlic, causing oxidative damage to red blood cells. It grows commonly in woodland areas where dogs may encounter it while walking.
Symptoms to Watch For
- Vomiting and diarrhoea
- Lethargy
- Pale gums
- Weakness
- Collapse in severe cases
