Why It's Dangerous

Raw dough containing yeast is dangerous in two ways: the dough continues to rise inside the warm stomach causing painful bloating and potentially life-threatening gastric dilation, and the fermenting yeast produces alcohol which is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream.

Symptoms to Watch For

Vet Guidance

Seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Gastric dilation can become fatal within hours.
