Why Grapes Is Dangerous
Grapes and raisins are extremely toxic to dogs and can cause acute kidney failure. The exact toxic substance has not been identified, and toxicity varies unpredictably — even a single grape can be fatal in some dogs while others may eat several without immediate symptoms. There is no safe amount. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, loss of appetite, decreased urination, and abdominal pain, typically within 12-24 hours. This is a veterinary emergency — seek immediate treatment. All grape products (juice, wine, raisins, currants, sultanas) are equally dangerous.
