Can Dogs Eat Peach Pits?

🍑
⚠ Toxic — Moderate Risk

Contain cyanide and choking hazard. Remove before feeding.

Why Peach Pits Should Be Avoided

Peach pits are dangerous for two reasons: they contain amygdalin (which converts to cyanide when digested) and they are large enough to cause intestinal blockage. A dog that swallows a peach pit may require surgical removal. Signs of blockage include vomiting, loss of appetite, straining to defecate, and abdominal pain. If feeding peach flesh (which is safe), always remove the pit completely first.
