Can Dogs Eat Spicy Foods?

Causes stomach upset, pain, excessive thirst.

Why Spicy Foods Should Be Avoided

Dogs have far fewer taste buds than humans and do not enjoy or benefit from spicy food. Capsaicin and other spicy compounds cause stomach pain, diarrhoea, gas, and excessive thirst in dogs. Hot peppers, curry, chilli, jalapeños, and spicy sauces should never be given to dogs. Even small amounts can cause discomfort. If your dog accidentally eats something spicy, provide plenty of fresh water and monitor for digestive upset.
